Fabienne Legrand studied law at UCL. She has been a lawyer at the Leuven Bar since 1973 and specialised in liability law and insurance law with a focus on complex claims. In 2016 she obtained the special certificate for proceedings in criminal cases before the Court of Cassation.
She is committed to quality as a lawyer. She was chairman of the conference of the young bar and teaches communication at the training school for lawyers. As a board member of Eurojuris Belgium, a network of lawyers of which she was co-founder and chairman, she continues to work on the development of a high-quality European partnership between lawyers.
Outside the legal profession, Fabienne is vice-chairman of the Olivaint Genootschap, an Interuniversity Centre for Political Education and board member of the Queen Paola Foundation, which promotes the integration and education of young people.
Fabienne is bilingual French-Dutch and speaks English fluently.
